I
am seeking an older female dancer for a choreography project.
The ideal candidate would be fit, in her sixties, with a capacity
for flamboyance. She would be comfortable with modern dance and contact
improvisational styles and be willing to improvise. She would live
in the Columbus area and not anticipate moving away soon. The characters
include a gypsy conducting a seance and a woman in the process of
divorce.
This is a long-term project that may involve several dances. I will
provide gas money for rehearsals and rehearsal space. The other principal
dancer (me) is 64. Other dancers may be added.
If you ARE interested but outside the guidelines, please feel free
to contact me anyway.

Dance
team divisions offered this season at The Turning Pointe
Children
and teens who aspire to become professional dancers, or at least
take their training to the next level now have an opportunity at
The Turning Pointe School of Dance, 2387 Locust St. S., Canal Fulton.
Along with the
pre-professional Ohio Youth Ballet, the school -- in its fourth
year now -- offers dance teams for students who are interested in
a range of dance disciplines.
Ask any dance
instructor and he or she most likely will tell you ballet is the
foundation of all dance. Each dance team member is required to take
ballet, for which The Turning Pointe has always prided itself in
providing quality instruction. But students who are passionate about
hip hop or break dance or who dream of performing on Broadway can
gain experience with the dance team divisions. Students will take
a class nearly every day in a variety of styles including tap, lyrical,
ballet, break dance, musical theatre, jazz and hip hop.
Three dance
team divisions are offered based on age. A petite track offers five
classes per week for ages 6-8. The junior track offers six classes
per week for ages 9-12. And the senior track offers seven classes
a week for ages 13 and older.
Students can
still register for regular classes and the dance team divisions.
Also, auditions will be announced for the Ohio Youth Ballet. Call
330-854-1417. Visit www.turningpointeschoolofdance.net for a complete
schedule. |
